  • HBO approves Chagaev, but not July 11th date

HBO had accepted David Haye as Wlad's opponent for June 20, but their boss Ross Greenburg has turned down Ruslan Chagaev.

However, RTL will show Wlad-Chagaev on the 20th, and prefer this over a July 11 telecast.

Apparently Setanta is still set to go for June 20.

Glad it's Chagaev rather than Valuev

Hope Chagaev doesn't fall ill again :\

Well, looks like Wlad'll get the Ring belt. If Chagaev don't back out at the last minute himself, Wlad'll KO him.

Chagaev has enough time to prepare, he should already be in fighting form

RTL as well would show Wlad-Chagaev on the 20th, and prefer this over a July 11 telecast.

Will setanta even be around by July 20? oh well i just hope Vitali can step into a Haye fight if not Haye will have to fight a contendered maybe someone like Arreola. And hope refunds are fully avaliable to UK fans if this is true.

You mean June 20. They may not be around for July 11.

Several sources. From several articles including the one from Troy here at boxingscene (HBO approves Chagaev), and from Wlad's assistant trainer.

I haven't found much info or these articles, I think I'll reserve judgment until K2 Promotions make a statement themselves.

                    Rumours are what they are.
