See, Street Bully, whilst I disagree with the disposition that 'boxing doesn't deserve him', like you do. I must also take issue with your statement that boxing doesn't need him. All in all, I thought TS's post was good, and well thought out, even though I don't agree with all of it. However, I think boxing needs Haye... but not just Haye, I think that boxing (esp the heavyweight division) needs every able bodied man it can get. We're at such a juncture right now, with our best fighters in their thirties, and the new prospects aren't going to be at the elite level for quite some time. So, from a completely pragmatic, and selfish point of view, I consider Haye indespensible. Regardless of whether or not you're cosy with teh Klitchkos, one must admit taht Haye's certainly put some ****e into the divison. Love him, hate him.... doesn't matter to me. What matters is that a competative figher with charisma is finally taking the step up in an attempt to amend the status quo.

I hope Wlad has patience and doesn't walk away from this fight. But I wouldn't say Haye should retire because boxing doesn't deserve him. Most people are just excited and eager at all the hype for this fight and have got no patience. What's wrong with Haye fighting a top heavyweight or something first if Wlad walks away. He's still got to be tested against a top heavyweight.Just looking at Barretts record, he's never even held a belt at heavyweight

I hope Haye fights the winner of Dimitrenko-Chambers. He will probably lose, but if he wins he will earn the right to fight in an eliminator. Which he will probably lose, but if he wins THEN and only then will he deserve a fight with Wlad.

Haye has done NOTHING at HW that has excited fans, especially in the USA. Haye is mostly hype and a coin flip against most of the top-ten HW's right now. Expecting Wlad to wait another month hoping that Haye is better is a joke. Wlad would be over-trained if he did that since he's trained for months to peak on June 20th. If Haye is for real he will be able to fight his way into contention.
