Is Setanta the verge of bankrupcy?

Apparently all of David Haye's purse was to come from Setanta PPV revenue.

But I've been reading that Setanta will be bankrupt within two weeks. That probably means David Haye would have not been paid - so he would have lost a lot of money in training costs and other expenses!

Does this possibly explain Haye's "back injury"?

What do you all think? Anybody know more about Setanta's financial woes?

Is Haye saying he'll fight on July 11th just to save face and so he can say Wlad's avoiding him if Wlad fights Chagaev on June 20? And if Wlad reschedules for July 11, Haye will have some satisfactiion because Wlad doesn't make any money on June 20th fight.

If it is rescheduled, I have a feeling Haye will pull out again before July 11, and despite his own misfortunes, Haye will have a big laugh at Wlad's expense.

I love Setanta... This bankrupcy talk is hurting my soul

But yeah, it sounds as if they may be done for.

Big blow for boxing in Britain. With ITV4 axing their boxing coverage in the next year or so what will we be left with? £15 a pop Khan PPVs and Eurosport's relentless sycophantic coverage of Abraham's career

Yes, it's sad we're losing Setanta.

I seemed to always be able to find a stream for their fights, but not so with HBO and ZDF.

Not gonna miss Setanta Sports, hated it. Hopefully boxing goes back to Sky Sports.

Anybody think this is why Haye pulled out?

He wouldn't have been paid for the fight if Setanta goes down.

I dunno man. It's a tad extreme to cancel the whole fight

Could have renegotiated something or found a new home for the fight

I believe Haye is injured. He definitely wanted the fight

I don't think you should question his injury without having something more substantial than wild speculation.

Having said that I find such reasoning highly unlikely since Haye's management, if they have done their job properly, would have made some assurance (spelling) or guarantees that the purse will be paid regardless.
