Chagaev is a lot more proven than Haye is. In fact, he's a better overall fighter. He just went on this streak of backing out of fights for whatever reason.Comment

Man 1 month that’s all and he can't even wait for that. All boxers know there is a chance of getting injured in training it happened to Chagaev and Pavlik this year.
Its sounding like Wlad never wanted to fight Haye in the first place, and only agreed to the fight due the noise Haye was making in the press
All this rubbish of Haye wimping out I don’t buy that for a second, if he says he injured I belive he is, why make such a noise then not follow through..
I hope Wlad makes the right choice and waits an extra month and if haye still cannot fight in July, he could always still fight Chagaev then.Comment

That would create a lineal Heavyweight champion for the first time since Lewis retired, which would be a big breakthrough.
It would also be massive fight in Germany.Last edited by Dave Rado; 06-04-2009, 12:11 PM.Comment

lmao. yea,,,,,this makes sense. going from a glass jawed blown up cruiser that pulls out to the 3rd best heavyweight in the world with a southpaw stance is cowardiceComment

Chagaev was furious that the fight was called off and threatened to sue. He had very low, non-infectious levels of Hepatitis, and in almost any country but Finland the fight would have been approved, but Finland has stricter rules than most countries. And it was Valuev's decision to have the fight in Finland. Plus Valuev was told the fight could go ahead if he had a vaccination, but he refused to have one.Comment
