NO, HAYE IS AFRAID. AFTER BEING KOed BY KALI MEEHAN IN SPARRING, HE KNOWS HE HAS NO CHANCE.
HOW DO YOU know how serious the injury is?

A back injury could be ANYTHING... you could have a back injury like a pulled muscle, that is fully healed in 2-3 weeks..

Thats like saying it takes longer than 2 days to fix a car..

I am pretty sure it depends on what IS ACTUALLY wrong with the car.

A "back" injury isn't really specific, you can't just say 3 weeks isn't long enough, when you don't even know the problem..

No fighter has any security that the other fighter will be ready on the date of the fight.

The only issue is site planning and tv date availability. This is supposed to be a massive event. I dont know how easy it is to find a new venue or if the current one has the date open for 50,000+ spectators. It's not like you are moving a fight that 2,500 people were going to attend.

Its not as easy as just put the fight back 1 month. There has to be a TV date and an arena to house the event.

                      Exactly. That's what I said.

Add also that Wlad probably has to defend against Povetkin by September or face a possible strip so every week counts. And a chance to fight Chagaev for The Ring belt would also be significant.

Damn this injury. It really muddles the picture.
