putting a fight night weight limit is worse for mosley.

You bet it is , no way Shane would fight at 147 on the night , he would be semi dehydrated to be at that weight which is way worse than being extra dry the day before and blowing right up to his natural fighting weight of 155-160 .

But I think its a very good idea for a small fighter to say , yeah ok its on but not over the class limit at fight time , people would except it better because its a fair ask while the same people condemn catch weight fights as they stand , at or under the limit on fight night effectively is a better equalizer for the small fighter and the people that dont truly understand the drying out process it would be more widely accepted .

yeah shane would be dead if he came in 147 at fight night.

best for him a catchweight of say 144 , just dehydrate 3 lbs. more and just hydrate back up to his normal size.

what killed oscar and morales (3rd fight) was that they tried to come in fight night at the same weight as the weigh in weight.

i tend to see a few of pacquiao's opponents do that. come in lighter at fight night than they would normally.

maybe they try to come in light because they think it'll make them faster and be better able to handle pacquiao's speed?

They dont come light on purpose its by accident , when your cutting a lot of weight it dont turn off like a tap although you can drink a little if you know your going fall to fast or keep falling , it can easily slip a pound or 2 under in those last few hrs especially if they used a diuretic ,,, I think with Oscar he tried to diet down and trained in camp at too light a weight for too long , it took much substance of him , I believe he would have been better trying to dry out the extra weight from a higher weight , maybe it was just an impossible weight for him .

I would say 144-145 is fair for Pacquiao and Mosley.

Mosley is a big strong welterweight, To expect Pacquiao to face him at 147 wouldn't be fair.

Mosley is a natural welterweight, Pacquiao is a natural junior welterweight.

Them meeting somewhere in between is fair.

i think oscar was on purpose.

i think he wanted to come in light to make it seem like not a mismatch and take away from his "win".

i really think he thought pac was a pushover and was more worried about keeping his weight low.

morales i don't know. he was scared of going over but i don't know why he didn't rehydrate back up , maybe he couldn't.
