Ok. Everyone seemed all worried about Oscar being over the welter limit (weren't their sanctions put in place?) so I'm wondering how Manny got away with that.

        I dont understand the question?

PAC weight @142 & ODLH 145 during Weigh in way below the welter limit of 147?

Manny made weight for the weigh in then rehydrated to 148 on fight night.

I remember plenty of concern over how much Oscar might balloon after the weigh-in. Seemed to be a real concern according to Roach. But I guess double standards aren't a big deal.

I think as time accrues and people reflect they will see roach as equal parts the manipulator and boxing coach maestro.

This is going to be a great fight!

Here is my article on Pac vs. Mayweather and talking about the potential loctions for the fight.

I presume you UNDERSTAND day-before weigh ins.

Shane, Cotto, Floyd are all naturally heavier than Pac, so
they would tend to try to LOSE weight during training, in
order to make 147, then rehydrate 10+ lbs for fight night.

Pac would try to GAIN weight during training to make 147
at weigh-in, but he isn't going to add much more between
                  then and the fight.

A "catchweight" within WW definition but under 147 is
meant to reduce the weight disadvantage Pac faces in
the ring: Pac'll still be around 147, and his opponent will
be a couple of pounds less than 160+.

Regarding Oscar vs. Pac: That was a true catchweight
match, both fighters out of their element, The fight was
at straight-up WW (147). No title at stake, mind you.
Oscar simply failed to rehydrate properly, because he
made the mistake of making weight too early in training.
Otherwise he'd have bounced back to 155 or more for
                  fight night.

                  h.

None of this applied to Oscar. The fight was straight-up
WW, at 147. No title at stake, mind you. Oscar simply

Tell me something I don't know. Regardless, if you're going to have a hissy fit over how much someone rehydrates, I suggest you take your own advice (speaking to Pacquiao/Roach). Especially, when Pac was legendary for rehydrating several weight classes above when he was in the lighter divisions.

                      What can I say?
Each side negotiates for concessions in their favor.

Bottom line is that after both sides agree and sign,
those special conditions (gloves, weight, ringsize...)
shouldn't be cited as excuses for the result.
