He was 1992 United States Amateur light heavyweight Champion, he would got to the 1992 Olympic Games, winning two bouts before getting put out by Torsten May who would go on to win the Gold Medal.

He won his first 27 bouts, and in those bouts beat James Toney twice, do some dispute the decisions, he also beat some decent contenders in Ray Lathon, and Hunter Clay.

But Griffin's biggest moment came when he became the first man to put a L on Roy Jones's Jr record, as Jones was DQ for hitting him when down. Do this dosen't tell the whole story, as Griffin was giving Jones alot of problems for most of the fight, and giving the prime Jones's his harderst fight to date.

But in the 9th Griffin was knocked down, but only to be hit again when down knocking him out for good. Most think it was Eddie Futch's masterfull gameplan in which Griffin followed well that gave Jones's so many problems.

In the rematch Futch and Griffin split, and do Jones may have beaten him in the rematch even with Futch, I feel Futch could of played another key role in the fight, but Jones knocked him out in 1 round.

Griffin would never get a World Title again, he would go on to lose most notable fights, losing a SD against Eric Harding, getting stopped by Dariusz Michalczewski in 4, getting beat by Antonio Tarver on UD, Rico Hoye and Glen Johnson would also score victoires over him.

His last fight was against highly touted Beibut Shumenov were he lost a UD. Some feel Griffin underacheived, he was a very awarakd customer, had a good skill set, and a good boxing brain.

But he shall always be remembered for the Roy Jones fights.

He hasn't fought since Shumenov, which was Augest 2rd 2008.
    thanks wikipedia

Hes a BUM. Who cares about that clown? What has montel ever accomplished besides winning the title from acting and getting sent home in the first round 6 months later.
