I like how Mayweather's nuthuggers are using this 5 fight hit list to make people think Floyd is gonna fight a top fighter. Let me see who he'll fight.

    Michael Katsidis
    Abner Mares
    Jesus Chavez pt 2
    Carlos Hernandez pt 2
Erik Morales, since he's talking about making a come back under Golden boy.

      Yup.

In the case of 135, after a tune-up fight, he got the opportunity to fight De La Hoya. That was a huge risk fight for him, most people thought De La Hoya would destroy him. That fight hadn't been anticipated, it came out of the blue, and if it hadn't been for that, he'd almost certainly have stayed at Lightweight and dominated it for a while. Plus it was only a year ago, so even if you think he's wasted the last year, which I don't, that's hardly comparable with wasting the last six years.

He has never fought a Welterweight at 147, he has never pretended to be a Welterweight, and still less has he ever pretended to be the best Welterweight; and he has never fought for a title at Welterweight. His fight at 147 was effectively a catchweight between De La Hoya's weight (154) and his weight at that time (135). It was not a legitimate Welterweight fight.

By contrast, Floyd won the lineal and The Ring Welterweight title, claimed he was the best, and yet he has not defended it against a single top Welterweight. Worse still, he claims that none of the top Welterweights deserve a fight with him, which demeans the sport of boxing. If the best don't deserve to fight the best, then there is no sport of boxing.

He beat Hatton at his best weight. And Hatton had been The Ring and the lineal champion of the division for nearly four years. Floyd beat him at 147, where he was known to be a lot less strong. Pac's win was nevertheless far more devastating than Floyd's was.

*On Cotto not calling out Mayweather*

I find it funny ALL Floyd nut-huggers ignored this question :]

          3) He didn't claim that Hopkins and Jones in their prime didn't deserve to fight him, which Mayweather has claimed about Mosley, Margarito, Cotto and Williams, to name but four - quite the reverse, he frequently called both of them out, around 2001-2002, and made a huge effort to get a fight with Hopkins in particular (see my sig). But he wasn't a big enough name for them to want the fight at that time, especially as he wasn't even in their division. And he dominated his own division. That's not at all analogous to Mayweather's record at Welterweight.
Enzo calzaghe said calzaghe was the best of all time and joe calzagehe was standing right next to him when he said it.

He said it on the 24/7

I remember Cal's dad claiming his son was the best ever to lace them up.

I didn't see 24/7 but I don't believe he could have meant the best fighter of all time - better than Ray Robinson and Ali? The interviewer would have burst into hysterics if he'd said that. He must have meant the best Super Middleweight of all time, which is a reasonable claim in a division that is relatively new and that has historically been very weak. Or if he really meant the best fighter then he wasn't being serious.

In any case Enzo's an idiot at times, and Joe is hardly likely to publicly contradict his dad.

In all honest he's made excuses like this in the past. Referencing to Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito, and now SSM. It's all the same BS. Well Shane Mosley has 5 loses and he's not a big draw except for California....that's BS! You ducking the man...plain and simple. Hell he's a bigger draw then JMM! His whole deal is make the most amount of money taking the least amount of risk. Which you can't be consider one of the greatest pulling that kind ****! Coming back to fight the light weight champion at WW is joke! I mean JMM is great fighter and has a big heart, but he's moving up 2 weight classes to take on a guy pretty much at his natural weight... This is Floyd's game, and the game is in his favor, in ever way possible. If ever I wanted to see an upset, I'd love to see Dinamita pull it off. Floyd needs to quit cherry picking, and take on the best WW's. Because honestly the excuses are getting old of why he won't fight one particular fighter. If your going to say your the pound4pound best, then take on the best.
