Berto Wins, Cintron Steals the Show: Post-B.A.D. Review

In the main event, we saw the furtherance of America’s most touted young Welterweight while one of the most exciting young Jr. Middleweights on the landscape hit his first bump in the road.

this wasn't just a loss for angulo. Angulo's game was exposed. he is very slow and faster slicker boxers can all beat him. his footwork is awful and his defense is worse. Angulo showed nothing last night and im not surprised.

Angulo Cintron was way better than Berto Urango

I thought this was the best that Cintron has ever looked. It seems he finally got his ducking problem under control, and he used his jab very effectively. I still have some doubts about his chin, and think he won't be able to hang with elite fighters, but all in all it was a good fight for him. And Berto may just have the fastest hands I have ever seen.

Who was the idiot in Angulo's camp that accepted this fight or asked for it? Cintron is an experienced fighter who would still be undefeated if it wasn't for Margacheato. Angulo had 15 fights. Thats a TRAGEDY

I was looking foward to a Angulo vs Kirkland fight but now that is postponed indefinetly. I guess Cintron quick jab and powerful right hands and left hooks were enough to keep Angulo on bay by not letting him do his rush attacks. A rematch would be very entertaining. Cintron still carries his left to low and will always be a target for a counter right hand. He is atlethic but boxing seems not to be second nature to him. At times he looks very mechanical and thinking what he gonna do next instead of reacting

Ronnie Shields has done a good job with him. When Cintron landed his big right hand and the oppenents didn't go down seemed never to have a plan B and would start to melt down. Ronnie has him to stick to a game plan and exploits his assets as a boxer within his abilities. Shields always been an excellent trainer

I dont worry too much about his chin. He took big punches from Teddy Reid (one of the hardest punchers at that weight 5 years ago when Cintron fought him), Margarito1 (cintron went south after a cut over his eye started gushing), that guy suarez who went nowhere in his career but still hits like a horse, and margarito a second time where kerm took some huge punches to the head with no problem but was dropped by a body shot.

Would love to see cintron go back after martinez, though martinez is a southpaw that is quick enough to make most guys look awkward and get both fighters feet all tangled up. I think Cintron/ Berto would be fun to watch. I would still love to see Cintron/ P-Will. I think that's an exciting fight with a good amount of action that would be tough for both guys, but definitely worth it for both guys.

147-154 is still where boxing is at. it's too bad that one of the finest fights I've ever seen, Cotto-Margarito, is forever tarnished. Reminds me of Barry Bonds and how he's tarnished the record books.
