The Hatton/Pac negotiations had similar problems and they worked it out just as Floyd/Pac will. I don't like all these negotiations going on through the media though since it only annoys the boxing fans! They should keep the negotiations private instead of trying to have the media influence either fighters team to take less money...
Pac's team trying to get Cotto to try and make 142 pounds is ridiculous when Pac can easily make 147, but Cotto would have to really dehydrate himself to get down to 142, that wouldn't be fair! If Pac wants to fight at WW he shouldn't be trying to make the WW's kill themselves making weight nearly a weight class below.Comment

Its not decided by hypothetical polls. Its decided by who brings the most views and thus the most money. Pac is a star you are right. But I remember you saying something like he deserves like 65% of the pot. You can't deny that Floyd has done better numbers than Pac so that would be crazy. That being said Pac is p4p number one and has a buzz. Therefore 50/50 is the logical choice. Floyd may be a bigger draw but Pac bring Value and status to the table.Comment

Mayweather vs Hatton did 900k+ buys.
Pacquiao vs Hatton did 800k+ buys.
Mayweather vs De La Hoya did 2.4 million buys.
Pacquiao vs De La Hoya did 1.25 million buys.
The numbers don't lie...
Judging by that alone, you'd give it to Mayweather, but there's more to it than that;
Manny beating De La Hoya and Hatton more convincingly, having a big fan base, the fact that he is P4P #1 (Pacquiao), and it is a fight they both will earn the most money with, biggest fight they want to see... equally the reason why the fight would be so appealing and he is very exciting to watch and has become a global superstar.
You could bare in mind that Mayweather is very popular, Wrestlemania, Dancing with the stars, AT&T adverts (whatever you wanna call it), the fact his name was used in every fight when he was retired... the amount his name was used whilst he was retired, how anticipated his return was and thread after thread being made about him... the fight should be 50/50, 60/40 is negotiations.
As you can see... they both even each other out and prove they bring the same amount of negotiation power to the table... they will both demand 60/40 to try to get as much as possible, 50/50 is the fair amount... you can't be biased.
Anyway, Floyd has to get through JMM first who cannot be overlooked, he is a great fighter in his own right... we should wait until after the fight to talk about Pacquiao vs Mayweather if he beats JMM convincingly.

Listen Lady Fan, I got nothing against you... but come on we gotta be fair here, 50/50 would be the right choice.Last edited by Spacey1991; 05-31-2009, 08:56 PM.Comment
