no it wasn't a great win.

it was a good , solid win since zab was still top 10 and had some belts.

him losing to baldo made it not a great win. he had no excuse for losing to baldo.

At the time Judah and Baldomir where 1 and 2. Judah had the ring title and the fight with Floyd was signed even before the Baldomir fight. Baldomir beat Judah, so Floyd had to fight Judah first because of the contact. And what did Floyd do next he beat Baldomir for the ring title. He had wins over Gatti and Judah

          it HAS been a while.
While De La Hoya was not rated #1 at 154, I think it is obvious that the De La Hoya in the Mayweather fight would have beaten any other 154 lber at that time. And yes my friend, Judah and Baldomir were the best at 147 at that time, it's just it was a very down division at the time since zab lost to a journeyman who was now the undisputed champ, so floyd had to beat both. Margarito was an unknown champion with a loss Santos before. Marg is a cheater anyway, he doesn't matter.

                  no they weren't.

zab was the champ and baldomir wasn't highly ranked (maybe #10) before their fight.

after the fight , baldo became champ and zab dropped to like #4-5.

judah was not considered the best at 147 after his loss. how can he be?

baldomir was lineal champ but that doesn't mean he was the best at 147.

lineal championship at ring 147 was passed around like a hoodrat at a keg party during that time.

forrest > mayorga > spinks > zab > baldo > floyd all within a short period of time.

Had Zab beat Balodmir I guarantee you he would have lost to Floyd even easier. Zab's back was against the wall and still to this day brings up talks of a Floyd rematch, because he knows those four good rounds he gave was a testament to his focus for the fight. Haters got caught up in him losing to Baldomir as a way to discredit the fight, when losing actually makes a fighter most of the time a stronger fighter.

better than a career full of vacant titles.
