WBA welterweight champion “Sugar” Shane Mosley announced today that he is ready to face Manny Pacquiao in the ring and is willing to meet at a catch-weight to make the fight happen. In a statement, Mosley said: “There are conflicting reports from the Pacquiao camp an upcoming fight between me and Manny Pacquiao. I want it to be known that I want to fight Pacquiao and I want to fight him now. I’m willing to meet at a catch weight to make that happen. I know this is what Freddie Roach wants as well, as he has previously stated this to press. I am the best fighter in boxing and I am ready to reclaim the title of number one pound-for-pound fighter.” Mosley last faced Antonio Margartio in January 2009 and delivered a ninth-round knockout. Pacquiao is coming off a second-round knock-out victory over Ricky Hatton in May.

Mosley is such a coward. He is scared of American fighters. He is willingly to Pacman instead of Paul WilliamsComment

Mosley can only beat on dimensional fighters not top American fighters/Comment

When Paul Williams beat Antonio Margarito he made a point to call out Cotto and Mayweather in the post-fight interview afterwards. Your boyfriend Floyd has said in the past, "Who is Paul Williams?"Comment

Man, these weight classes have become a f#ckin circus act. Why does everybody want to take nothing but money fights against big names instead of concentrating on being the best in a particular division. I'm a big admirer of Mosley, and I realize that he needs money right now because of the situation with Jin. But surely to god he can fight a rematch with Cotto once Cotto gets past Clottey. I thought Shane won the first fight even though it was close. He's considered the best at 147 and he isn't taking the bull by the horns, and I'm disappointed in that to be honest.Comment

At this point Mosley is only gonna want big money super fights, so it makes sense he would call out Pacman or Mayweather rather than Williams. Not many people who aren't boxing fans know who Williams is, while Pac and PBF are the 2 biggest names in boxing. If Mosley loses to Manny or Floyd he still has the option to fight Williams after, but if he would lose to Paul Williams chances are he wouldn't get a shot at Pac or PBF after. I understand you want fighters to step up to the top fighters but it just doesn't make sense for Mosley if he can get more money fighting someone he feels he matches up better withComment
