Zarco, I think you missed the point. I think he meant "star", not just in terms of fighter but of attraction. JMM is the best Mexican but sadly he is probably last on the list in terms of stardom. Fortunatly, I think he will be alot more popluar after being focused on during the 24/7 show, also after the mainstream hears about how much trouble he gave Pac, and he will definatly be a star if he wins or even comes close to Floyd

He had a good showing in his last couple fights and with the last 2 fights he made his name even bigger, trust me Mexicans are behind marquez 100%. He would sell out the staples stadium just like margarito did.

First of all, Steve is no weakling. He's about 6' 200 pounds and in shape. Steve knows Marquez is brilliant it's just that he's stating that Marquez didn't capture the imagination of Mexican fans like a Chavez, and the like, did. He was one of Margarito's biggest supporters prior to the loaded wrap saga so he has no negative Mexican bias and he is almost honest to a fault. He tells it like it is no matter who he offends and is as impartial as one could in the boxing game.

what he says is right too Marquez' new found fame still doesn't make him a star in Mexico. He is loved and yes he has gained some popularity but lest we forget he empty house he fought at in Vegas against Casamayor.

and he is a big Marquez supporter by the way. He has followed him since Forum boxing. Him and Rich Marotta have been fans of JMM for quite some time

thats VERY debatable. He did about 14,000 in Houston with Houston native Juan Diaz as his opponent AND Houston native Rocky Juarez fighting on the undercard.

his star power has grown but I doubt he does 21000 at Staples unless it's a huge name in front of him

Thats BS. Floyd wouldnt be fighting Marquez if he wasnt a star, draw and attraction. I mean, Floyd has gone on VIDEO stating that the reason Cotto and Mosley aren't an option for him is because they are not draws.

so OBVIOUSLY, JMM is a huge ****en star with more draw power than VY Canis Majoris.
