Going up two weight divisions, being the underdog, fighting the naturally bigger man, #1 Light Heavyweight in the world, and completely embarrassing him. I'd say Antonio Tarver then Trinidad, then Pavlik.

Fame-wise, I would go with Trinidad, De La Hoya, Winky Wright, and Kelly Pavlik.

Yeah, but look how good those guys' records are at MW and above.

      DLH: 1-1, should be 0-2.
Trinidad: 3-3, wins being Cherifi, Mayorga and Joppy.
Wright: 3-2-1, wins being old Quartey, Sam Soliman and Tito.

      Wait, nevermind.

          Jermain Taylor

Seriously though, depends what you mean by best. Most significant and most impressive performance was Tito. Glen Johson is my personal favourite. But Tarver might be the best one cos he was being written off and had moved up two weights to completely dominate the guy.

It's pretty bad when a defensive specialist like Sturm ko's Cherifi faster than Tito did.

Tito was a welterweight killer. He was no middleweight.

Tito would fight anyone though. No matter the weight class.

Trinidad simply because it put him on the map as a 3-1 dog. His life story came out that fight, he took full advantage of the press coverage to set himself up for stardom. The Tarver fight goes 2nd for me. Again a 3-1 dog, coming off a pair of losses to Taylor. Questions arose, & he answered them by going up to light heavy & dominating Tarver who was then the man. ****in awesome, what a true champion is made of.
