I saw it too. Dawson will get hammered by ****** people. What everyone needs to realize is that this is exactly what boxing needs more off. Screw the belts. The promoters need to say "Sorry we don't care anymore". The orgs will be crippled if stars aren't fighting for belts and in a dream scenario it would force consolidation of the organizations.

In order for boxing to get bigger, the politics and organization surrounding it needs to get smaller. Moves like this make that dream a reality. Props to Chad Dawson for giving the fight that fans wanted to see and sticking it to the organizations and the IBF. Boxing would be a better place if there were more fighters like Chad Dawson.

But ESPN's ticker tries to get the news across in as few words possible.
most people that see the espn ticker could care less about boxing.

The pressure from the fans, media, and networks, is what made Dawson vacant the belt.

That's true, I was pleasantly surprised to see Nishioka's win over Jhonny Gonzalez from their ticker news. I think boxing is making a bit of a comeback as one of the mainstream sports, thanks largely to it's intriguing personalities like Pacman and money May...

casual fans would really think he avoids cloud.. ESPN was really a hype machine on athlete.. i just go there to read actual results on major sports events but never really pay attention to their columns..

**** that ****. Chad for a 2nd time is ****tin on a ******ass alphabet belt to take care of an important fight for him. And this time he ain't got anotha belt to pick up in his next fight. ESPN should give the man his due.

They are only telling the truth. Dawson thinks he's a superstar already but he's not. He needs to establish himself by fighting young undefeated fighters like himself.

So, would you rather see Dawson fight Tavoris Cloud than Glen Johnson? You might probably the only one who wants Dawson fight Cloud first than Johnson. Everybody here is in unison that Johnson deserves a rematch with Chad, specially 95% of the people here, including me thinks Johnson won that one...
