I just saw the ESPN ticker and it said he 'vacated the IBF title rather than face mandatory challenger Tavoris Cloud (19-0 18 KO) to rematch Glen Johnson (43-12 3? KO).' Any casual fan reading that would look at it like this guy is spineless, it looks and sounds horrible to the uninformed.

I don't see how that's ****ting on him ; they're just stating facts.
But I can see how the average fan would view that and think that Dawson was ducking some 19-0 guy for a 43-12 guy for an easy win.
What it should've said was........
But ESPN's ticker tries to get the news across in as few words possible.Light Heavyweight Champion Chad Dawson vacates IBF title to face Glen Johnson in a rematch of their very close fight last year.Comment

Yeah, especially when you look at their records with Cloud undefeated and knocking out almost everyone and Johnson with 12 losses. Anybody that isn't familiar would be like WTF.
Yeah, me too. Cloud looks like class, I have high hopes for both, it looks like a lesser version of Leonard-Hearns where they both go on to do accomplish a lot, but I don't blame Dawson for not taking it. Without HBO or Showtime Dawson would make like 10% against Cloud than he would against Johnson.Comment

lol, Thats what i thought, I swear if i was a pro boxer i wouldnt give a toss what boxing fans think, I seem to remember how Dawson was been critise for rematching Tarver and ducking Johnson.
Now he vacates his belt to fight johnson and his ducking Cloud.

Ticker news is just, ticker news. It doesn't give away the who, why, what and where. I'm sure Brian Kenny thru FNF will expound on this, just be happy that we get to see boxing on ESPN news again.
It's no biggie, really...Comment
