I like Berto. I'm one of the few that definitely think he beat Collazo.

That being said, I don't like him fighting Urango. That seems like a hand picked fighter. Urango is very limited and is not a very proven 140 pounder.

I understand and acknowledge that he wanted Shane and Cotto, but that doesn't mean he should have gone for Urango.

I don't think it's Berto, I think it's DiBella. Quintana would have been a perfect opponent, but DiBella knows that Q would be a huge risk.

I think we all have more confidence in Berto than DiBella does.

Berto is a good fighter every fighter has his detractors of course. I don't see him getting the big names though, too much risk, too little reward.

Thing with Berto is that HBO likes him. He'll get the big boys as long as he keeps winning cause as long as HBO is backing him, you'll have high budgets.

I bet HBO's budget for a potential Cotto/Berto fight was higher than that for Cotto/Clottey, or at least just as high.

yea man, he's a great puncher. Throws punches from all angles and puts together great combos. He just needs to be thrown to the wolves a little bit and see how he does.

I think Quintana would have been a perfect opponent for him.

I haven`t seen hate for Berto, he just hasn`t built up a fan base yet. With 24-0 (KO 19) record and as WBC welterweight champion, he is a potential star. I`d love to see him against PBF when the smoke clears (when PBF`s 0 is no more).

I’d like to see him step up his conditioning…there were times in the Collazo, even the Rodriguez and Forbes bouts that he seemed slightly gassed by the mid-rounds

and yes, quintana-berto would be a good scrap

i cant believe the wbc let him have a belt with that awful fight against mickey rodriguez. and that hbo televised it as some great match up made it even worse. hbo should be focusing on competitive fights not showcase fights. mickey rodriguez! why! was henry bruseles busy or something?

There have been controversial fights of where I wanted to see a rematch. But a Collazo-Berto fight isn't one of them. Sure, that fight was close, but it was Berto who did the most damage in the fight. If those two fight again, it's going to be the same exact result because of Collazo's lack of punching power. I think there may be some people who want to see that rematch and can't stand Berto at the same time because of the way that Dibella and the matchmakers have pampered him somewhat. I am not a fan of Berto, but I don't dislike him at the same time. If people are rooting for this guy to fail then just hold out hope that Shane Mosley gets a hold of him.

I don't notice too much hate for Berto.
