The guy is a household name..There is so much hate on here for floyd and alot because he likes to talk alot of ****. If he was as classy as Mosley or Klitschko do you think people would not hate him so much, even if he doesn't fight the fighters everyone wants to see? I think it would really help him out.
When was the last time a fighter did a commercial as big as AT&T?????
I think the only people that hate him are mexicans...puerto ricans..and pinoys.Comment

Excuses Excuses.
Floyd was outweighed BIG TIME when he won his title at 154.
He wasn't fighting somebody that was dehydrated and unable to compete at their optimum level.
Let's see Catchweight Manny give up 15lbs...LOL...He'd get BRUTALLY KTFO and his handlers KNOW IT.Comment

You are a delusional bum if you really believe that. Where are all the fans behind Paul Williams? Miguel Cotto? etc etc etcNo he wouldn't.
He could have been like golden boy. Everyone would love him and he would make millions off of it. While still being recognized as one of the greatest ever.
But he stereotypes himself and gets all of his fights shot down because of it. One of the best *******s in boxing ever. Great title to live by.
Boxing is a dead sport. If you don't have personality, no one will care about you. Who is the last boxer without a personality to be popular? Oscar by the way, promised his dying a mother a gold medal, and then delivered on that promise while wearing the red, white, and blue.Comment

This is a good one, but I'll have to go with a resounding "yes, Mayweather would be hated even if he were the classiest guy on earth". He wouldn't be hated so much, mind you, but one must keep in mind that a lot of the reason that PBF is disliked is due to his percieved invincibility. He's never lost a fight, whenever he's in trouble he manages to adjust his tactics, he fights very defensively, and one would be hard pressed to find a fighter that could beat him (Though I think that may happen soon). Mayweather has no underdog appeal whatsoever. He's a champion, but not a 'peoples' champion, and no amount of 'class' would ever change that. People always look for the greats to fall. If he acted classy, some people would call it a 'front' just as they did for Hatton, but on the other hand, some people would likewise support him if he wasn't so...what's the word... "Mayweatherish". Personally I don't have an intense affection for the man, nor do I have an intense hatred. He isn't my favourite boxer and I don't think any amount of class would change that. At the end of the day, some fans dislike fighters for no good reason at all. So perhaps he would be less hated, but I think only marginally so.Comment
