Who is the bigger draw: Cotto or margarito

I have to go with Cotto at the moment, Margarito was starting to become a Bigger draw after he KO Cotto but then he got caught with the plaster thing and got KO himself.

The crowd didn't seem to boo or stay quiet when Margarito got layed out. There were people jumping and cheering from my point of view and I watched it on TV. From people I know who went there, there were a lot more Mosley fans that what the TV gave off if that's what you're basing it off of.

Plus, did you already forget Oscar and Shane had an epic LA battle that did better than anything Margarito did? Mosley's been in numerous PPVs, Margarito was in...1?

Many non Mexicans liked Margarito prior to the plaster issue. Both fighters are exciting, but to think they sell out in other backyards ALONE is pretty funny. They ain't DLH.

Again, Margarito himself didnt sell out the Staples center. It was a split crowd. You truly believe Margarito vs Corey Spinks would've sold out Staples Center? They knew having Mosley and Margarito both fight in LA would draw huge numbers being both guys have big fan bases in the LA area.

It's all dependent on what places the fighters fight at. Obviously, Margarito had more of a following on the West Coast because of the Mexican / American population, as with Cotto when he fights at MSG with the PR population.

But overall, Cotto has been the more popular of the 2 and has packed Madison Square Garden several times and has been in more higher profile fights than Margarito. Margarito's claim to fame is KO'ing Cotto (which ironically got him no where but being infamous now).

dude do not tell me what the crowd was like if you were not there. That crowd was margarito's and it wasn't even close! I thought the cotto fight was huge where it was about 8-2 or 9-1 in favor of margarito. During the shane fight you'd see 100 people before you seen one mosley fan. Shane has NEVER been a draw! His fight with mayorga was a failure and a loss of money for GBP. They had an attendance of less than 3,000. margarito sold out that same arena years before that when he wasn't that big yet and he was fighting someone who is still a no draw in paul williams.
