You forget Mosley was his opponent as well and was raised around the area too. It wasn't a Pro Mosley or Pro Margarito crowd at all from a few friends I know that attended.

This is not a simple question, at all, Mellow. Cotto wouldn't draw flies in the West Coast without some one big and Margarito wouldn't draw flies in the East Coast without someone big. Whereas, Margarito is a big draw by himself in the West Coast, and Cotto is a big draw by himself in the East Coast.

Compare him with an active boxer though, like let's say Ricky Hatton?

The same Can be apllied to Gayweather.

In the past it was probably close with Cotto edging it out. Now, Cotto blows Margarito out of the water with cheating going on in Margaritos side. Margarito lost alot of his Mexican and Boxing fans of all color.

I think people underestimate Cotto's fanbase outside of Puerto Ricans. I have African American, Mexican, Chinese friends who are all fans of Cotto. I don't know how many non Mexicans were ride or dyin with Margarito prior to last July.

Many non Mexicans liked Margarito prior to the plaster issue. Both fighters are exciting, but to think they sell out in other backyards ALONE is pretty funny. They ain't DLH.
