Cloud's Team Will Look To Get Chad Dawson Stripped

The team of undefeated light heavyweight contender Tavoris Cloud (19-0, 18KOs) will look to get IBF champion Chad Dawson stripped by the sanctioning body. Jerry Attardi, who manages Cloud, said that he plans to make a purse-bid offer at the IBF's convention in Panama, and he will ask the sanctioning body to strip Dawson of the title if he doesn't give his fighter the mandatory shot. Cloud and Dawson is a fight that will happen in less than 2 years and it will be a good fight. However, Dawson/Johnson II is a bit more important for the division and the sport. Cloud will have his time, but it must wait. He should fight in the interim while Chad answers some questions. Good fight to be had, bad way to force it to go down.

I like Woods but what has he done to earn another title shot?

Hopefully they will strip Dawson, who seems to avoid prime opponents and prefer to fight 40 year olds, and let Cloud fight for the vacant title.

Cloud has earned his title shot, he has been waiting too long. Tavoris will easily send Woods into retirement with a KO win.

If the IBF is to maintain any credibility, they have to enforce their own rules. 3 months after an eliminator the champion must defend against the winner.

So be it. Like it or not.

I'm semi confused as to who the real mandatory is. I see it says if Dawson is stripped it will be Cloud vs Woods. I know Cloud vs Gonzales was a title eliminator, but wasn't Woods vs Muriqui a title eliminator? Woods should just fight Cloud and the winner fight the winner of Dawson vs Johnson. If Dawson does get stripped, the real loser is Glen Johnson. Dawson and Johnson would both beat Woods and punish Cloud.

Woods vs. Muriqi was an eliminator for the #2 position in the IBF ratings. The winner gets into the next final eliminator, but if the titleholder vacates or is stripped, the #2 fights the #1 for the vacant title.

Cloud vs. Gonzalez was a final (title) eliminator. Cloud is the mandatory, but if the champion vacates or is stripped, he will fight the #2 (Woods) for the vacant title.

I agree but Dawson's wanted nothing but "THE BEST". He caleld out Joe Cazlaghe who LOL "retired", Hopkins who wants a CW belt and all that is left of the so called BEST is Johnson who many agree won. IMO he didnt but to answer the critics he should give him a rematch.

So 40 years old or not that is all that is left. Reason Joe came over to the US out of NO WHERE! The LHW ARE ALL OLD. Of course you have the NEW up and comers. I say strip Dawson (which is a ***** move but rules are rules). I would hope Cloud would beat who ever it may be for the belt then we could have some drama set up for us in the near future at LHW. Which it needs. It would be VERY easy to promote. The current Champ VS the REAL champ who was stripped of the belt.... It sells...

Anyway yes it sucks hes done nothing but fight 40 year olds but if he would have faced the younger talent then EVERYONE would say he was dodging the VETS! So I see ya points but what could he have done? I think hes on the right track.....

How about they spend more time fighting for the belt instead of sitting around and trying to get another guy stripped
