Pacquiao Targets Mayweather, if He Beats Marquez

If Floyd Mayweather Jr. gets past Juan Manuel Marquez on July 18 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Manny Pacquiao wants to fight him. Mayweather is a heavy favorite to beat Marquez. Pacquiao wants the fight but says the final call will come from Top Rank and his team. Top Rank's Bob Arum has mentioned WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto as one of the frontrunners to face Pacquiao next. Pacquiao wants to return on October 17. [details]

If they fight, I doubt it'll be on October 17th, just three months after Mayweather-Marquez. It'll probably be December, if at all in 2009.

Personally I'd rather see Mayweather-Mosley, but we'll see how that plays out with negotiations (what really matters, not the "calling out" process that you guys get unnecessary erections over).

Pacquiao was in ****kok over the weekend. I'm sure he did plenty of interviews there. Ronnie wrote earlier that he was mobbed by media.

Interesting, indeed. I was half joking, but was curious why the report came from the ****kok Post.

Mayweather should fight Pacquiao at 140. What's the point of staying at 147 when you fight guys moving up in weight and avoid everyone at 147. Floyd is a coward.

The ****kok Post is one of the best English newspapers in Thailand, it's probably reliable considering Pacquiao was here over the weekend.

Floyd has fought at 148 on fight night in his recent fights, Pacquiao has weight 148 on fight night in his recent fights... what difference does it make?
