I'd put SSM up on him slightly at this point. Cotto won their fight, but it coulda gone either way 7-5. Cats who think cotto dominated are nuts.

The momentum was in Shane's favor in the championship rounds. Cotto's punches were doing minimal damage because he was constantly on the back foot, and I think Mosley would have stopped him in a 15 round fight.

      eh, he's not a cotto stan.he's a plasterstan.

There both great fighters, but I'm going to have to go with Miguel Cotto. He's an absolute machine in the ring, and is a pretty complete fighter all-round.

Well Cotto beat Shane so how could he not be better?

As far as resume goes, Shane has the better one...

People seriously overrate Cotto's "fading" in the late rounds.
People claim Cotto was boxing effectively off the back foot but I saw a totally different fight. He was landing single punches that did absolutely no damage whatsoever. The 12th round is what I would compare to what Oscar did against Trinidad. If you don't think he wasn't fading in that fight then maybe you need to re-watch it. He had the look on his face of a broken man. I have a soft spot in my heart for fighters who gut it out and try to engage a little bit when it gets down to the championship rounds and not look to play it safe. Consider this. Since Cotto did absolutely nothing in the 12th round what do you think would have happened to him if it had gone 15? I didn't see him throw one punch.

The 9th was a very close round too.

The thing is, there were more clear rounds for Cotto than there were for Mosley. Every round that I gave to Mosley, with the exception of maybe the 2nd, could have easily gone to Cotto. I don't think you can say the same with the rounds Cotto won.

If Mosley got the nod, it would have been exactly like JMM/Pac 2. Basically, a universally understood wrong decision. Cotto got the nod, and the world accepted that he won. People need to realize this.

Mosley did just as little as Cotto in the 12th. You need to watch the fight again, what you saw is wrong.

In a 15 round fight Cotto wouldn't have been coasting to the finish, so it would have been a completely different fight, how could you possibly compare? He was boxing, not fading. If he was fading so much, explain why he clearly won the 11th. Explain why NEITHER ONE did **** in the 12th. Cotto thought he had the fight won and wasn't taking any chances. To compare what he was doing to what Oscar did against Tito just shows that you don't know what you're talking about.
