That was a big IF though. Tyson was a great fighter but just not the complete package people like to pretend he was in his prime.
Tyson fought on after the knock-down and tried to go for the kill. He just wasn't trained and was alreayd exhausted by that point so obviously he wasn't going to do ****.
And that isn't a prime Tyson. How can you be prime when you have declined as a fighter?
But yes, there are faults with Tyson and some people push his talent/legacy to far up.

Think harder.
How was that "aura" made?

I think Tyson has a punchers chance at best, prime for prime. If they fought 10 times in their respective primes, Lewis wins 8 of 10 IMO.

And fighters did throw back at him and he still won. You need to stop being a Parrot of other's thoughts. People forget this is boxing and it isn't likely to score a KO in every match. When Tyson didn't score a KO, it was like he ****** and loss even though he won a UD.
Tyson had problems and would have trouble with certain fighters...Lewis was one of the guys I mentioned...but you underrate what Rooney did for him and you must have not watched any fight of Tyson with Rooney instructed Tyson what to do and how he worked with Tyson to keep his focus and how Tyson responded. Without Rooney, he was by himself.
Now, that is on Tyson...I never denied that...and, I've always said that was the difference between someone like Tyson and someone like Ali: Ali was a General and Tyson was a Soldier.
In addition: I have argued on the question of how good was Tyson really?
And, we just don't know.
We know he was better with Rooney and he was still quite young. And when he left Rooney he declined.
He never stayed the course and moved into the 90's not at his best which is why we have questions. Had he, we would have a better understanding of his talents with his Positives and Negatives.
He forgot everything Rooney had showed him? you would of thought he would reverted back to what he had been taught with Rooney after getting beat down by Douglas eh ? these excuses dont wash. He knows how he used to move his body and what combination's he threw, he has probably thrown those combos about a millions times with Rooney.

If Tyson was THAT good, one of the greats then why did he turn into tripe when he switched trainers. It's been pointed out that many old, washed up fighters still go on to put on commendable performances, but not tyson, oh no he got battered by everyone, and resorted to cowardly cheating and quitting to avoid taking anymore punishment.
That's why I take some points off of Tyson. While others had more of chance to do it on their own, Tyson couldn't.
What made Tyson good was the training he received in Catskill and the only person that was able to hone his skills and make him better was that one connection left...Kevin Rooney. When you are 5'11, 215 pounds and going up against bigger guys, you are going to need a certain style and certain skills to win.
Roger Mayweather also discussed Tyson's demise with him leaving Rooney.
You aren't going to have a guy from KIA work on a Ferrari, are you?
