say Peek-A-Boo Butthead
believe it or not its mostly the newer kids to boxing that rate tyson so high.
mostly the ones that got into the fey ditsy cornponed rocky B movies.
the tyson era was almost as week a time in boxing as this dratted klit age.
his antics made him popular.
and i'm not putting you meatheads down. boxing needs you. you are the ones who have the money.
sorry but transcending the sport is not one of the things tyson transended.Comment

I think you're right. Boxing fan or not, everyone seems to know Ali and Tyson. The same can't be said for De la Hoya; not in the UK anyway.Comment

but they wernt as remmemberd years later like ali or tyson.Majority of general public today might not. The fact is that they transcended the sport during the time they fought in.
Dempsey was as popular or even more popular than Babe Ruth. He was one of the first to generate millions of dollars in any sport.
Jack Johnson's fights incited race riots around the country in which people were killed.
Joe Louis knocked out the German Max Schmeling in one of the biggest fights of all time at a time when the world was at war.
muhammad ali is the most reconizable fighter in history, everyone knows ali=boxing, even tho its been 36 years since his hayday.
and tyson is still talked about all over, and his fame is not dying down.
louis, johnson, marciano were great, but the general public forgot them after a couple of decades.Comment
