McCall Stops Hopoate in Two, Atomic Bull Returns

After a near two-year layoff, former heavyweight champion Oliver McCall (52-9, 37 KOs) stopped John Hopoate (11-3, 11 KOs) in two rounds at the Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. McCall, at age 44, sent Hopoate down twice in second before the fight was waved off. [details]

        Oliver McCall is back!

But he was thoroughly outboxed a couple of years ago by JC Gomez, so he's past being a contender.

Mccall's only knockout loss was the tko by lewis.he's never been down on the canvas.he's in shape & totally crazy.I saw him beat this tomato can & he almost shed tears of joy he was so overwhelmed beating this nobody in like 2 rounds.the commentators were even laughing & joking about him.if you never saw the espn version of his press conference after the lewis fight you must find it.it's classic comedy.

another 40 something heavyweight hanging around.why not? Foreman did it during the Tyson, lewis,Holyfield era & with the pathetic state of the division it's no wonder there are so many want to be foreman.the division really is depending on guys like arreola, haye, dimitrenko, boytsov, chambers to be the future because if they don't this division will be in big trouble.arreola just hired a highly regarded fitness guru of some sort.this should help him.I haven't seen dimitrenko & only seen 1 boytsov fight but until they fight legit american heavyweights then I won't take them seriously.we all know the big boys fight in the states.best trainers & sparring partners.povetkin is the best hope along with arreola.haye is a wlad 1,2 away from retirement unless lightning strikes twice & haye pulls out a sanders repeat.I doubt that thou.the division needs even a guy like Tyson fury to succeed so we can have good fights.even Sam peter is young enough to rebound.the key here is these guys I listed need title fight each other.f**k the world titles (winning 1 of the 4 belts means NOTHING.we need 1 champion or I'd rather just see great fights.I take a great nontitle fight anyday over a 1 sided boring snooze fest the klitschkos provide.so whatthey have great ko% neither if them has that defining sanders vs wlad ko or a Tyson vs spinks or lewis vs golota, grant.devastating 1st round knockout against a world ranked top level fighter.wlad does have a chance to do that on June 20

Well done by McCall, but... What for? Doesn`t he have anything else to do except boxing? Or he dreams about a belt???

P.S. his chin always made me O_o

He finished strongly in both their fights, though. He's never an easy opponent for anyone.
