yeah. i think it was the only body punch manny threw the whole fight.

    it hurt ricky though.

manny needs to throw more body punches.

i remember in pac-morales 1 he hurt erik to the body in the early rounds but never went back to it.

Well that KO punch on Ricky was an awkward left hook. Manny had his body in PERFECT position to throw it. You generally don't see a punch like that land. Throwing a hook without your lead hand can be suicide. But with the right positioning, Manny got that **** right in perfect. It was also completely unexpected as Ricky I'm sure thought. Less than 10 seconds left in the round, what could possibly go wrong? I'm sure Manny thought, perfect time to catch him off guard now! Thinks he's safe? GUESS AGAIN!

        i think manny confused him.

manny started that punch like an overhand and since he was bent over , ricky thought he was throwing to the body.

manny didn't turn his fist over though and instead followed it through more like a hook or hookercut.
I think ricky was half-right that he braced for a body shot, but then the punch went slightly above, as you can see if the punch was a little lower it would hit rickys chest but instead it hit ricky's jaw and neck.

          i heard that too.

ricky was still on the floor and they didn't want people jumping around.

i think that's why they lifted ricky's head when he was laying down. people were jumping around in the ring at the time and that's not good with ricky's head still on the canvas.

According to Sky network, it's to prevent Ricky from swallowing his tongue.

he couldn't swallow his tongue. he still had his mouthpiece on.

i didn't see his mouthpiece fall out. i guess it's still possible......

either way , having your head on the canvas while people are jumping around still ain't good for you.

A straight punch can put you on your ass because it comes at you so fast, but a hook, the way it torques your neck, your entire head gets ****ed up followed by the body. Pacquiao put plenty of people on their asses with the straight left but never really KOed them with it. Now with the hooks it looks like he can use that 1 punch power he does have to a greater advantage.
Next stage the uppercut, then his offense will be complete. I think the uppercut can be even more devastating if it hits the sweet spot.

He was just showing the camera crew were Manny was amongst the crowd.

Nah, he was telling Manny to get on his damn knees now! LoL. I really think they are trying to drive home that Manny is crazy religious after the 24/7. But yeah, that really looked stage the way he forced Manny to get down and how Manny was like, ****, it's my cue now.
