Is Pacquiao more devastating with HOOKs?

In the past, Pacquiao rarely ever through hooks. It was always straight left hand. He'd mix in some other crazy crap but never clean hooks. Now that he's working on hooks it seems he can be even more devastating because to me a hook does way more damage than a straight punch. A straight punch can put you on your ass because it comes at you so fast, but a hook, the way it torques your neck, your entire head gets ****ed up followed by the body. Pacquiao put plenty of people on their asses with the straight left but never really KOed them with it. Now with the hooks it looks like he can use that 1 punch power he does have to a greater advantage.

It depends on the fighter. IMO Manny's money punch is his straight left. Lewis's best punch was a straight right his left hook wasn't too good. Earie Shavers best punch was aright hand, as was julian Jacksons.

Pac's hook has gotten better, but his left is still the strongest shot in his arsenal.

I think his right hook is pretty good but Manny should not try to hook with a hooker.

Keep it straight then work in the crooked punches (unless you are fighting Hatton or someone like him who is wide open for that punch) a mix of both makes them both more effective. It is good to have the option of 2 quality power punches (more is even better), because in any one fight someone might take away one hand but it is much harder to take away 2 weapons.

generally the ko's are the punches that put torque on the neck and whip the head around.

i don't know how to explain it.

where's what's his name? the guy who always talks about front foot and back foot fighters.

straight punches stun the opponents , hooks and overhands ko them.

                I have a question...
What punch doesn't Pacquiao throw and isn't devestating?

When you throw 100+ haymakers... something is bound to give you a dirt nap.

generally speaking, yes, hooks are usually more devastating, but i would rather take a julian jackson left hook over his right cross anyday.
