    Has Marquez actually lost?

Well has he?, let's put the Pacquiao fights aside since they were so damn close.

all those other apparent losses on his record were actually robberies. they were.

I suggest everyone watch the Norwood fight and the Chris John fight.

If you think Marquez beat Pacquiao, the man has never lost.

Or if you want to be fair, give them each a win and a loss.

Arguably, Marquez has never lost and I see no solid evidence of how Mayweather will simply "toy" with him.

The Norwood fight was a clear robbery, and he got screwed in the John fight.

If you look at it like that, then there are lots of fighters that have never lost. The simple fact is though that he has some losses on his official record, no matter if he actually won the fight according to the fans.

Because they were close fights you could just as easily say that the other guy did win. Nonetheless, they were all close fights and none of his losses have been robberies.

I, like most, believe he won the second Pac fight but it was not a robbery. He didn't win nine or ten rounds clearly. I think it was a close but clear win for him. I actually had John up by the slightest of margins. Marquez just didn't seem to be on that night and the ref was a little suss. Not terrible but just a bit home fighter favourite. Without those deductions he won on my card.

The John fight was similar. Close fight that Marquez just didn't do much in. He seemed lackluster and not on at all.

you haven't watched the john fight. chances are you heard that from Kellerman.

Pacquiao is the closest guy to beating Marquez, and 50% of people think he lost.

Arguably Marquez lost to Barrera as well. And you never hear Marquez or anyone on his team cry robbery on the john fight as they do with the pacquiao fights.

absolutely no way were the John and Norwood fights close. I thought the John prediction was aweful, The Norwood fight wasn't just a robbery, it was a fixed fight.

I agree the Pacquiao fights weren't robberies, just close fights. The Norwood and John fights were.

The "job" of a boxer in the ring is to minimize all doubt in the
judges' minds that HE is the winner. Whether by dominating
or knocking the other guy out, it's on him to SECURE that W.

Judges' subjectivities are part of the equation, that a fighter
has to accept. If the fight is close enough for a judge's bias
towards a certain style to determine the result, well, that's
part of the game/rules too. Bottom line is, the result stands.

                    Marquez lost to John.
He drew with Pac, and then lost to Pac.

And hey... you know what I think of this thread?
The importance placed on losses; on avoiding/denying them
is getting ridiculous, but if your object is to make the case
that Marquez will give Floyd a fight, look no further than the
bet in my sig, to know that I agree.
