Heard about the namecalling. That's my bad to bring it there instead ofxan intelligent convo. Plus I enjoys our 'battles'. I'm fired up today. Listen, I don't think we r that far off on our views of fmj's talents, I just want some real proof. Check my list of his opponents I would respect. I can't back a boxer I always have to defend. And I can admit faults my favorite boxers have. You don't know me to label me anything. If I'm being considered
a nut hugger then your a loser and hater because your getting
mad at me because I respect a fighter/Boxer's talent prior to
the smack talk he puts outhere. All your beef is that he calls
himself the best and hasn't fought Mosley/Cotto but it has been
revealed that he has them on his radar and he is back from retirement
so what's the ****ing problem? Cats like you are always quick to label
someone a nuthugger because they like a certain fighter but this is
boxing, you can like and appreciate who you want to. Doesn't have to
agree with you but don't try to bash the qualities I see in Floyd
because you don't see them because to me that's personal and not
about thheard oncthr nae sport. I have plenty of favorite fighters because I like the
Spor Boxing and not disliking guys because they don't fight everyone
or condemn them because they call themselves great. Last I checked
a lot of fighters do that. **** is pathetic on here sometimes, I feel like
I'm dealing with a bunch of 8th graders with all the name calling and ****
talking.Comment

Thanks, we just have to wait and see what happens after this fight with JMM, so many people are trying to discredit/disrespect JMM by asking Mayweather who he would fight next which i think isnt right especially the media.
If he gets to fight either of Top rank fighters next then that would be great, I hope something could be done about the broken relationship between him and Arum so all this fight could be a great possibility.Comment

This is my main gripe in the discussions in this thread. You all obviously know what you are talking about, and you all have legitimate points to back up your opinions, but I don't understand why people refuse to, or at least will consider it an argument, that Floyd could've done more to get everybody's unquestionable respect.Heard about the namecalling. He's is the easily one of the best fighters of our generation. His boxing skills are impeccable and his reflexes and ring IQ are off the charts. But the bolded part is what bugs me when reading these discussions. People are such diehard fans that they refuse to even acknowledge others' opinions on the imperfections of of their favorite fighters.
As a boxer people may not be drawn to Floyd's style, but he is one of the most intelligent fighers we've seen in a long time. People hate on him because he doesn't give the flash and excitement that they want in a fight, and this makes for a lot of detractors and brings the casual boxing fan to recognize boxing as a legitimately entertaining sport.
In terms of not fighting the best though there is no discussion. I am a FAN of Floyd, a big time fan, but lets at least acknowledge others' opinions, which I happen to agree with for the most part. He's proven what he can do in the ring, but people who really love the sport want to see him fight the BEST. Why do you want to say he has nothing to prove? There are a lot of great fighters in the WW range that he has not faced, whether his fault, managements, monetary disagreements, whatever. You guys can speculate all you want about how he would dismantle or handily beat the top dogs, but WHY would you say he's above fighting them? Like someone already mentioned many of the ATGs are not undefeated because they have faced the best. They never called themselves the greatest without fighting the best of the best.
Nobody can question Floyd's abilities and say he is not amongst the greatest of our generation, but I don't understand why people will hold their stance and have no part of acknowledging that he could step up and face the toughest opposition. Floyd already said he doesn't love boxing, and that alone takes away some respect from boxing fans, but he claims to be the best? Again I am a BIG Floyd fan, but do we have to defend every legitimate argument against him?
Big ups to him for saying he will fight the top guys, and Bob Arum better not be a ****head and prevent the fights from happening. He will hit bank regardless of the splits and cannot act like Floyd doesn't deserve to at least split with the likes of Cotto and Pacquiao. But lets not give him accolades for just saying he wants to fight all of these big names. To gain everybody's absolute respect, and to be universally acknowledged as an ATG he needs to get it done.
Sorry for this LONG ass post, I could've probably expressed myself in about half of those words, hahah
Edit: I think I'm coming off as very biased with my words too, but I agree that a lot (not all) of the bashing he receives is DEFINITELY uncalled for.Comment

I gurantee you think Pac is an ATG. This is the type of **** that annoys me. You sound sensible but there is a line of what i would call "incoherence" that you have passed. Give the man some respect, he is an ATG. Period. He could be much higher than he is now but he is an ATG just like Pac is anyone who says different about either is an idiot.Obviously I care.
