People "fake" all the time in front of the cameras. PR stuff, putting on a front for the cameras.
Go through "The Muhammad Ali Reader" by Thomas Hauser and Ali is described by most as being shy and quiet when the cameras were away. Sugar Ray Leonard had a good public image while he beat up his wife and snorted coke at home. Sugar Ray Robinson had a public image as a gentleman while at home he used his wife and kids as a punching bag. People always talk about how different George Foreman is once the cameras are off.
Not saying that Pacquiao necessarily is like them, but I can't fully understand why in this day and age people take the "public image" of celebrities so seriously.
