When he was up against the ropes, he was very much throwing wildly.

In the center of the ring, I agree, he was picking Diaz apart.

But when Diaz opened up on him, or hurt him, Marquez would start firing wildly, I don't see how that can be disputed.

You can't do that with a guy as quick and accurate as Floyd.

Marquez is no dummy, He can adapt to a fighter like I havent never seen. If he finds out waiting and counterpunching is not effective then he will move on I disagree that floyd can do everything better than JMM. I give floyd the edge on Defense and Speed but Power i think they would be equal being that Marquez is putting on more muscle and since he's gone up in weight he's had 2 amazing knockouts while floyd been retired . JMM is good at making his opponents look not so good. I think he will Give floyd a run for his money . JMM wants it MORE!!!!!!

Watch the Diaz fight...anytime Diaz had him on the ropes and throw a combination at him, Marquez would just wildly fire back. If he does that against Floyd, it's curtains. He will get picked apart and it'll be ugly.

INCAPABLE and "prone" are two completely different things. Marquez isn't INCAPABLE of not getting hit in the face but it does happen when the inner warrior comes out and wants to brawl.

          Thank you.

            He is in capable....

Im gonna throw this out there and you guys tell me what you think...

Is it possible Marquez was holding himself back by fighting at 130 at 35 yrs old..? Kind of like Cotto fighting at 140?

He moves up and knocks out cassamayor and Diaz at 135... he seemingly looks better.. Moving up in weight at his age may not be a bad thing.

Also the way he throws his punches he is very technical, so he is able to use his weight and turn that into power... kind of like the anti joe

You see thats where I disagree with you. in the middle of the ring it was absolutely no contest, but Diaz is a physically strong little fat guy, and even when he had JMM on the ropes he would be right up there with him throwing just as many, while landing the better shots. Hell It was either throw back or clinch, and JMM prompted to throw. I would like to see him clinch more though.

That's what I'm sayin. If Floyd throws combos against Marquez on the ropes, and Marquez just fires back, Floyd's superior speed and accuracy is gonna get Marquez in trouble. In that situation Marquez SHOULD clinch, but he fights fire with fire and he won't. That's the problem I see for him in this fight.

Floyd is the much, much better mover in the ring. He has better foot speed and hand speed.

He's allowing less stress to get put on his aging body. It's true that he was rehydrating to 140 plus in his 135 fights, which means he was still squeezing into 135. But fighting at 147 is still ridiculous... I mean, I just hope he does like Floyd did against DLH and just comes in at 142 or something.
