to be fair to PBF, hearns fought a significantly smaller man in duran & i haven't encountered ( yet ) any hate or criticism thrown at hearns by the boxing community for beating a smaller & older man...

The thing with that is, my guess is the public was clamoring for a fight with Duran. In PBF's case, the public's been obsessed with seeing him fight welterweights. To be fair I think this is all en route to Pacquiao.

Fight means nothin but $ for Mr boat buyer. It's supposed to be a tuneup for Pac, but JMM at 147 ain't gonna be nothin similar to Pac at all. Mr boat buyer ain't gettin no cred if he wins, and he gotta get a KO to not look like complete **** over this.

At 147 no effect whatsoever unless floyd loses. If it was at a fair weight it would be a big win because Marquez is a tough guy.

This fight is a tune-up and a sad one as such. Using a p4p top 3 fighter as a tune-up is just wrong. Floyd should get very little credit if he wins and he has a lot of credibility to lose if JMM somehow pulls the upset.

If Mayweather wins against JMM, it will solidify his stand as #2 or #1 best P4P, aside from beating a Mexican Legend. This, aside from more than a year`s layoff and suddenly fighting a fighter who is only one inch smaller than him and with speed and power comparable to Pacquiao. And JMM`s handspeed and footwork is faster than PBF, only his stamina is in question because of his age.

JMM is a seasoned veteran, very hard to defeat, and PBF has had no practice (winning under these conditions is very hard to do).

Yes, it will add to PBF`s better legacy. With this win, he can even be arguably #1 P4P with just one fight.
