I am not a Cotto fan not in his cartel and I think he has a shot against Williams at 147. I mean Quintana beat Williams at 147 right? Question is could Cotto and his trainer come up with a lan for him to put into action that would work inhis favor. I saw Andre Ward bully his way to a win Vs. Miranda the other night and I am convinced you can beat Williams the same way. Stay on the inside and push him backwards. Make him smother himself. Problem is Cotto don't believe in holding and clinching. So that wouldn't work for him i guess. unless Williams initiated the clinches?....Lefty

Hey TS, what will be the sole purpouse of not just Cotto, but any WW to fight Williams?
I mean, if is I say, well, why Mosleyd ont fight Dan iel Santos or Matinez.
They ae pointless and meaningless and irrelevant for any WW.
Williams doesnt even have a succesfull title defense. He doesnt bring any money either. And if any WW beats him, they wont get as muc cedit, because he ainht a WW anymore, and people will claim he is weight drain and another thing is that, he is not a big enhancing win. At the moment it could ne, but a year or 2 from that, people will look at it as a decent win, not great.
Again, tell me the purpose for any WW to fight, besides pleasing Williams 5 fans on NSB?Comment

Honestly I tend to agree and disagree with your statement. i agree he is defintely is a FIGHTING WW FREAK....But if he gets chopped down by say PACMAN that would be some sight to see....But yes he doesn't bring much money to the table and as of right now he is not relevant. In recent times he became a no factor by fighting himself oput of the WW division. I think he is better off fighting at 160 for a while and trying to lure Pavlik or one of the bigger names into the ring to meet him there....LeftyComment

Your right though to the average Joe Schmoe it doesnt look like much...Cotto has a tendency to fight the fighters nobody else will fight...Margs now Clottey...So I wouldnt put it past him to pick Pwill next...I mean who else does he have besides the Mosley rematch if he beats Clottey?

That gives Shane basicly all the bargaining leverage...just because either people arent willing to fight Cotto or There is just nobody left out there...I think Pual Williams should be brought into the Equation...**** at least for leverage on Shane.

When he beats Clottey it will Cotto Mosley II for what three belts. Cotto has the one Paul vacated and he will have Clottey's right? Mosley has Tony's old hardware so they will be fighting a unifacation fight. i just wish Mosley could have made the fight with Berto and took his little piece of hardware it would have been for the undisputed WW Championship. Paul will be watching that fight and the $$$ changes hands just like everyone else. He is an outside looking in maybe he should
A) Change his promotional team
B) Pick a weight class 160
C) Win a few fights
D) Beat another relevant fighter in the weight class he chooses to fight in.
D) Get a belt and defend it a few times
Then he won; have to call anyone out they will be calling him out at 160 and if he does what I have listed the money will come to him.....LeftyComment

He doesnt have to duck Williams. Williams is so much taller them him he could swing level and miss the tiop of Cotto's head by a good 4-6 inches. Come on fellas did you see how much taller Tony was then Cotto. Cotto is like the same height as PACMAN. They are both between 5'6" and 5'7" Cotto may have a little bit longer reach then PACMAN. I think Cotto is like 72 and PACMAN is like 67. Either way Williams is like 80 - 82 reach. Like I siad before Williams is a FREAK OF NATURE FIGHTING @ WW. All this talk especially of Cotto or Mosley ducking Williams is RUBBISH as my English friends would say. I mean Mosley just knocked out King Kong (Margarito) now you want him to fight Godzilla too. Cotto in my mind proved he doesn't duck people I mean after all he is fighting Clottey who in my mind is a true WW and everyone runs away from the negotitions table when Arum mentions Clottey's name. Just look at Cotto's resume in his fights at WW Judah, Mosley, Margarito and now Clottey. the word run is not in Cotto's vocabulary.....LeftyComment
