Miguel Cotto Says Training Switch Was Worth It

Anyone expecting either guy to win this one easily is in for a big surprise. Whatever happens and whoever wins it should be a really great fight. I enjoy watching Clottey fight a lot so I must admit that I would like him to win.

After the way his career has gone and what with the dodgy way things went after he got screwed against Baldomir he really deserves to have some big $ fights.

After Baldomir, whom he beat down as bad as anyone ever has, he wasn't given another title shot for nearly an entire decade! He was avoided for a long, long time as no one needed to go up against him and the risk he poses is very high. Too strong to knock out with a good defense equals a recipe for looking bad.

There isnt much to Clottey.
He covers up. He tries to land the looping left hook and he tries to land the right hand with out jabbing.
Wash, rinse, repeat. It will be a battle of left hooks and who can land better shots to the body. Both fighters will be working that double left hook. Cotto will try to triple his and try to gain the advantage. Cotto will also stun Clottey with his speed. Cotto will catch Clottey dead center with accurate punching. Look for Cotto to get stronger as the fight gets close to the final round. Cotto on points and possibly a UD.

That's if Angel Cotto is still the same after he was humilated in to quitting. I really think he got found out as lacking in heart and will be a fighter like Zab Judah now. Have you seen Apocalypto when he calls the main character Mr Nearly? That's what Cotto will become now. he might lose this one just like Judah lost to Spinks
