The Paulie **** was something I missed at the time, but saddened me when going back through your threads recently. I didn't realize you had that much of a ****y streak.

I'm pretty sure Paul didn't mean for the fight to look how it did. I'm sorry you didn't get your money's worth, but I paid £15 for the fucker, too, and all I felt was sadness for Paul that he wasn't able to give his best, not short-changed. I'd put £100 of my own cash into Paul's pocket for that fight if I could, just because I'm so grateful for all the pleasure he's already given me watching him box. To **** on him after seeing him perform so obviously low on confidence just shows a lack of real instinct or understanding of what goes on out there and makes me not want to respect your thoughts on Joe Calzaghe, Floyd Mayweather or any fighter.

Fair enough re Paulie. I do remember feeling massively frustrated after the Hatton fight, probably because I wanted him to win, or at least be more competitive during the fight. I shoulda seen it coming though, he was awful in his previous couple of fights too.

I do feel a certain sadness for him, not sure where he can go now given his hand injuries and the fall-out from the Hatton fight performance.

If he had done it to a prime Roy i would give him credit for it, but he wouldn't have would he? It would've been in his best interest anyways. Joe didn't taunt any of his previous opponents like that but made an exception for Roy. We know why, but it was sad.

i understand your point all right, was merely pointing out what a ****** over dramatic statement it was. Joe shouldn't have faught the old shot version of Roy he did. (and i agree a prime Jones would almost certainly beat prime Joe)
But a Jones Jnr fan cant complain when their boy gets the piss ripped out of him by someone who was on a totally different level to them on fight night. He did it often enough. Now he knows how it feels.
Was Joe doing it classless? Definatley. But I fail to see how Jones Jnr or any of his fans can complain about it without looking like a complete hypocrite

What an awful, miserable fight. I was gonna download it recently because I've heard some of the Slappy minions complain about HBO's coverage of it, but I opted out. Thank god.
