  • PAUL WILLIAMS calls out the entire SUPERMIDDLE weight division, who will accept?

Paul Williams in a recent interview was quoted as saying.
"I want to prove I am the very best and since Kelly Pavlik doesnt want to fight I want to fight the man who beat Pavlik(hopkins), and if he doesnt want to fight, I want to fight the man who beat hopkins(calzaghe), and if he doesnt want to fight, I want to fight Carl Froch, Mikkel Kessler, or anybody who has two hands and two feet,
I want to prove I am the best, and I willing fight to prove it."

How many of you would have a problem with Carl Froch, Andre Ward,Jermain Taylor, or Mikkel Kessler fighting Paul Williams at supermiddle weight even though he just called them out?

I wouldnt have a problem with it because most of them either arent that skilled, are raw, are smaller guys who moved up, or are just good but not great. I would favor him against all of them

He has a great chance against all of them, I still havent seen the ward fight yet so im not gonna comment on that one yet. I think a Mikkel Kessler fight might just one of the easier fights on that list. Williams is poor at defending angles, and Kessler is a straight line guy not much of a great mover either. I think Kessler is the best at 168, but williams might have his number style wise. Can see a williams decision in that fight, but kessler might have him on the canvas in that fight. Froch would get hit for a laugh in that fight, but he's relentless as hell, not sure how many wars he has left in him, I think thats a dangerous fight for williams as froch has proven he can walk through a guy for 12 rounds till he gets the end result. Taylor with 12 round stamina, id pick him over williams just, taylor now.....couldnt live with the pace.

Hopkins if he comes down to 168 and maybe froch have the best chances.

I actually think his best weight is 154 but there's no one there to make money with. I just dont think those guys that you named are the real deal. Froch is strong but you could tell he was like a slow robot who Willliams could outbox. Taylor is the most explosive guy in boxing but he's also the most uncoordinated so he will never be great. Ward is coming on but he's still a little raw. I also think he would give problems to Pavlik at 160. The 2 toughest fights for him will be Abraham & Kessler. I wouldnt fight those guys unless its nothing else left but he can beat the other guys. Notice that I said "can". I still wouldnt be shocked if they killed him though

Pavlik doesn't fight at super-middle weight and if he did he would probably suck since I think Pavliks best weight class is probably 160.

So do you think one of them should accept his challenge?

I think Froch should consider it to be honest.

If he can smother williams and work in some angles, Williams is in serious trouble.

Kessler is the best at 168, but he shouldn't. alot of people would think he can destroy williams, but i dont the angles or movement.

Williams is a smart matchmaker, match him up with a guy like chad dawson at 168, he wouldnt know what hit him.
