They really should just quit. He was what he was, and he's retired.
Anyone who claims Jones avoided Calzaghe began watching boxing around 2004.

Even if you believe Hopkins or Jones ducked Calzaghe you gotta know that both would of whooped his ass in their prime. Hopkins would of UD in his prime. A fight with Jones would of been slightly closer imo, but he still loses by a clear decision.

Right so cos Jones didnt up and leave HBO to fight Joe, he's ducking? Ps can i have the link. Just for reference and what year was this?

PS. From what i can see, It doesnt say that fight was offered in America, it says he is expected to fight in america for the 1st time, but he the jones fight might not happen in the forseeable future.

Ill give you one of mine in return, this is Calzaghe himself.

              Calzaghe in 2003.

He was a free agent at the time. It was in 2001 and a documented offer.

The fight was going to be in America. Look it up if you don't believe me, I'm not here to prove everything to you.

Yeah because Jones doesn't have a track record of avoiding people lol. People can say Calzaghe wasn't a big enough name but look at some of the cans Jones fought. He was offered good cash to fight Calzaghe and turned it down to fight weaker opposition.

                  So true. It's always the same debate, isn't it? Would've, could've, should've.

You can clearly see age catching up to his workrate.

Even in fights he was winning unless the guy just gave up as a walking punching bag (Tarver/Pavlik) you can see him slowing down ever since the Tito fight. But hey, keep dreaming that Hopkins was at his best when he fought Joe.
Don't involve me in your petty ****. This is why you end up in so many tedious quarrels - you can't have a conversation without making a polemic.

                      See remarks like,

"keep dreaming that Hopkins was at his best when he fought Joe."

Who says I'm dreaming about anything? What's with the bull****?

The point at which Hopkins was at "his best" IMO would be the point at which there was a near-as-damn-it to even confluence of his physical prime and the seasoning of his 30+ years. I'm not debating whether Hopkins was past his physical prime at the point of fighting Joe (he was), I'm not debating whether the Hopkins Joe fought is thee best version of Hopkins ever to take a ring (it wasn't). I'm talking about whether or not he remains an elite opponent.

I'm not the first person to suggest that Hopkins effectively protacted his elite status by compensating for steady physical decline with ringcraft, ring-generalship, wiles. If what Hopkins has achieved, and is still achieving, in the 40+ stage of his career was so easy, everybody would be doing it.

Again, kindly keep me out of your funny e-war. Not interested. Attempt a real conversation for once, or don't bother.
