Pretty shocked by how much Torres struggled here, with a medicore fighter in Raul Pinzon. Pinzon was coming off a 1st round KO defeat against Saul Alvarez, he had also been beaten by Euri Gonzalez in 2007.
I expected Torres to win without much trouble, but he had a life or death struggle with Pinzon. Were he was knocked down in in rounds one, four and seven and was behind on all scorecards going into the last, before pulling out a KO victory.
Torres may be past his best, he has had some grulling fights especailly with Miguel Cotto and Kendall Holt. I personally think he may have got the win against Holt, if it had not been for a headbutt, but who knows.
He will most likely stay at 147, a very hard weight division at the moment. There is no douting do he is still one of the hardest punchers p4p in boxing, and I imagine he may get some pretty decent fights at 147, how about Luis Collazo or Isaac Hlatswayo?

No he isnt finished..... He has never been a technical fighter who was going to win alot of fights on points.... He's basically always been KO or nothing. As far as being knocked down multiple times, his chin has never been real awsome either.
Basically he is the same as usual.

Torres cornerman advised him prior to the start of the tenth and final round that he needed a knockout to win the fight with Torres himself being knocked down in rounds one, four and seven. Torres delivered as he went on to drop a very fatigued Pinzon three times in the final round in route to the TKO victory. Torres was trailing on the three official scorecards by 5, 4 and 3 points. The official time of the stoppage was 2:09 seconds of the 10th round.
Wow that Holt fight must have taken everything out of him. My personal opinion was that Holt clashed heads with him good which setup the dazed Torres that caused the "real" knockout, but Mentally I think that killed him as a fighter and he will be a bum here on out.
If it wasn't for his heavy hands he still has a punchers chance ... kinda like Randall Bailey.
