Ive seen him fight I was just saying that just because he had all the tools doesnt always add up to greatness. I dont think he boxed as well as Evander, but he was definitely an intimidating figure.

It was crazy how much Ike got off in that fight. For the first few rounds he outboxed Tua, then it seemed like he wanted to give the fans more of a show so he chose to stay in the pocket with Tua and outbrawl him. That was a breath taking performance.

Agreed he would have been a great fighter i think he would have beat Lewis also i know he was signed to fight Holyfield on HBO when he was arrested.

I am glad he is in prison though ,he crippled a 14 year old boy, by forcing him into his car then crashing it into a wall, Ibeabuchi is a real scum bag.

Yikes, he would have ****ed up the 2000 version of Holyfield. I think It was right after the Chris Byrd assault that Lampley said Holyfield should not get anywhere near Ike. I too believe Ike would have beat Lewis.

Ibeabuchi vs. Tua is such a myth.

Its an impressive performance in that Ike threw so many jabs and was able to sustain such a level of high workrate for the entire fight. While Oleg and Rahman also got off a startling amount of punches against Tua while outboxing him for many rounds, Ike never faded or got overwhelmed late like they did; though he got hurt at the end of the 11th he made it out of the round and finished strong.

However, tall tales of Ike freakishly taking everything Tua had is such bull****. Ike kept his right high and used it very little, effectively guarding Tua's left all night long. In reality Tua only got in a few decent right hands and body shots, though he was infrequent and in effective at putting anything together until the closing seconds of the 11th. Ike eating sustained punishment all night or walking through flush killer Tua lefts is simply not true. This single fight is the Ike's great claim to invincibilty..what a joke.

He at least closed his brief career with a good knockout over Byrd but I've seen people writing about him being a bigger, stronger, faster Holyfield that could take Tyson, Evander, Sonny Liston, Lewis,....whatever. He had potential but yeesh.

As I brought up in another thread, Samuel Peter's durability is even more proven. Outside of the McCline knockdowns, he ate brutal flush shots and sustained punishment from proven huge punchers in Wlad, Vitali, and Oleg without going down.

lol, I have read some of the most ignorant post on this site in weeks in this thread. Ibeabuchi didn't take steroids, the ***er was/is schizophrenic. He deserves to be in prison and god I hope he stays there. But his insanity had nothing to do with anything he injested and he was too paranoid of medications to take anything illegal. Two quick stories that I was told of by his old promoter Cedric Kushner. Cedric said he got a call one day from a freaked out Ibeabuchi. Ike was afraid that the government was trying to take over his brain and they were using the air condition ducts to braodcast their message. So Ike took apart the air conditioner so it wouldn't work and wanted Kushner to get him a government free air conditioner. Kushner said he couldn't get an air conditioner all that quick, but advised Ike to cover his head in foil and that he would come over and replace the microwave for him and bring in some fans to cool Ike and his mother off (since she was staying with him). Ike agreed and after that incident trusted Cedric to keep him safe.
That came into play with this second story. Ike trully thought he was the president. So much so, that he thought that there was an assassination plot against him. Fine and dandy except for the fact that he was due to weigh-in for the Chris Byrd fight. Ike refused to go downstairs and weigh-in. Kushner had to coax him to weigh-in or not fight. So he went upstairs with his "personal" bodyguards and convinced Ibeabuchi that they were there to protect him. They carried a video camera with them claiming that no one would shoot Ike with the tape rolling and so many people around. he agreed to go down and weigh-in, and then scampered back up to his room like a squirrel. Couple that with the fact that he tried to kill his girlfriends son. he is a bit crazy. And the whole callgirl thing. He paid for a two-hour session with the girl. He finished his end before the alotted time was up. So she got up and got dressed and tried to leave. He felt that if he had paid for two hours, that she should stay and they get to go again. She disagreed so Ike held her captive. Crazy son-of-a-*****. I can't substantiate the two previous stories because I wasn't there, but I seriously doubt Cedric Kushner would make them up. As for being the world champion. Um, very likely. He trully felt he was superior to anyone and with that mindset I doubt fear would have ever crept into his mind ala Tyson, and his workrate, chin, and power would topple a lot of guys, especially the Klitschkos. Sorry they are good, thats it.
