the guy was gonna hit the mat, just that he was gonna eat brain damagers all the way down while he was out.

u guys wanna see a guy die so u dont have to debate it....

That will be one of Weeks' greatest moments in reffing history if not the greatest.

I think Castillo would have recovered and caught Chico with another flurry to put him down for good.

Seriously? How could he have recovered while Chico was pounding him with hooks? The guy was out on his feet, unable to defend himself. Granted, if he'd actually hit the canvas and gotten a count, he might've stood a good chance of coming back and stopping Chico, but as it was? No way for it to happen. He'd have caught another 3 or 4 hard, flush shots while he was defenseless and been actually knocked completely unconscious instead of just stunned, most likely with a serious brain injury involving bleeding.

Buddy, you've got to watch that round again and pay close attention to Castillo right before Weeks stops it. He's completely out on his feet, laying on the ropes, guard fallen to his waist.

I haven't re-watched the fight in a long while, but you're right. Though, I still think Castillo would've beaten Chico before Weeks allowed him time to recover after spitting out his mouth piece.

Smart move by Chico I suppose, and a great win for him.

I agree, if Chico hadn't gained that 30+ seconds, he'd have probably been stopped there. But the truth is, Weeks took a point, not much else he could do. And since it was a knockdown, he had to get the mouthpiece put back in....not much else he could've done, other than DQ Chico, and nobody on the planet would've wanted that. Can you imagine the outcry? Maybe taken another point, but everybody knew that fight wasn't going 12 anyway, right?

When I was watching the fight I thought Tony Weeks was giving him an eight count. The only reason I object to the stoppage was because the fight was close. Castillo had been winning the fight up until that point. He deserved to get another chance to continue! He had Chico all but out as well. That's why I said if he was not such a warrior he should have spit out his mouth piece as well. I don't anyone to get hurt permanently but just put yourself in Castillo's shoes. Wouldn't you want another chance to go on?
