you cant really say oscar because the previous fight was against ricardo mayorga exactly a year prior to floyd's fight. only 3 fights in 3 years. bhop, mayorga and floyd. while at the same time margarito fought 6 times. williams, cintron, santos, lujan, gomez, and clottey

I think it's hard to say. Floyd's reluctance at the higher weights can sometimes make fighters look better than they really are, just based on activity.

It's so hard to say how much Oscar had in the tank when he fought Floyd. Oscar is a better fighter than Margo, but I don't know if his close fight with Floyd was more of what he did or what Floyd didn't do.

However, anyone who thinks Floyd was ducking Tony or something when he fought Oscar is out of their ****ing mind. Oscar was still perceived as a tough fight, and Floyd was gonna make a **** ton of money.

Oscar was still a decent fighter in 2007, but Margarito had a few "additions" that made him a lot more dangerous.

Margarito at 147 would have meant much more to Floyd.

Oscar De La Hoya in 2007 was a better fighter than Margarito. Add to that Oscar coming in at middleweight or near and alot of people saying DLH was going to KO him, that says it all.

Margarito vs cintron 2........one of the worst fights in years, no technical ability there, just two punch bags going at it.

But yea, this is NSB (No Sense Boxing) so of course people think a wide puncher with Zero defense who should have been at 154, was better than a DLH many were picking to beat mayweather.

Oscar is, he is alot stronger and faster then Margarito. Margarito is slow, wide open and I'll say it again, Mayweather would beat him in a easy/ boring fashion
