And in addition, by no means have I stated p4p Hopkins beat the best versions of De La Hoya and Hopkins. Still doesn't change the fact that they are his best wins. Hopkins simply doesn't have any SUPER great wins. Beating De La Hoya and Trinidad at WW are A+ level wins.

Nonetheless, Calzaghe's best wins don't compare.

What can't be ignored, and is the most important fact, is that Hopkins was simply two divisions bigger than DLH who was operating way beyond his fighting weight. Some jumps are just too much and this was one of them. Ditto Wright and Moby going to 170.

I maintain that this isn't even in Hopkins' top 10 wins. Top 2 names but not top 10 wins.

Calzaghe has at least 10 wins better than a MW version of DLH. Hopkins, Kessler, Eubank, Jones, Lacy, Brewer, Mitchell, Reid and Woodhall were all much bigger threats at the weight.

its a good point youve made that hopkins didn't beat tito or DLH @ the p4p game. but considering the stock that some fans put in these wins youd think that he had.

if i was to take the likes of brewer, mitchell and sheika i think they are better wins for zaghe than tito and DLH are for hopkins.

brewer, mitchell and sheika were all either titlists, had recently fought for a title or had just lost it to ottke. sheika at the time had just beat g.johnson. these guys were legit threats in their weight divisions and imo bigger threats SMW than DLH and tito were at MW.

imo if DLH and tito had campaigned at MW for anything more than 5/6 fights their stock would have plummeted, wright and taylor would have beat both.

now even if we do manage to concur that DLH and tito are (arguably) in your eyes the best that the MW division can offer is more of an indicator of the quality that hopkins was facing at MW.
