He stood off because Sexton was so hurt he was literally standing there in a daze with his hands down and Parris was just waiting for Rogan to land a huge bomb and kill Sexton. Seriously, I don't know what he was waiting for, the guy was gone.

The 8th round was his last.

True, but sometimes you have to be a **** in there. The ref didn't do a good job, but Rogan should've gone for the kill when he had the chance.

I've seen it before when some boxers stand off because their opponent is so hurt. Not the best thing to do - just got to go at it.

It was in the corner, when Sexton was backed right up and his hands were right down. Rogan should have launched a career wrecking hayemaker at Sexton to put him down, but let him off to implore the ref. Sexton then recovered slightly and bounced two shots off Rogans Iron jaw. This seemed to infuriate Rogan and he went back to trying to get Sexton out of their but Sexton was being a whore a kept holding on.

          Dave Parris TKO 8 Rogan.

I don't see any 'controversy' or anyting wrong on the ref's part. It would have been premature to have stopped Sexton on a TKO. Rogan should have jumped in and kept punching until the referee called him off but didn't. Sexton was doing all he could do, trying to stay in the fight. And the doc was called on for the second time (I think both Rogan's corner and the ref had warned him the fight was likely to be stopped) and quite correctly stopped the fight because Rogan couldn't see at all out of the swollen eye.

Sexton should give an immediate rematch, as he 'won' only because of Rogan's sportsmanship; he was TKO'd within the next 30 seconds otherwise. Providing Rogan gets one, all is as it should be.
