  • Botha Decisions Hoffmann Over Twelve in Germany

Magdeburg, Germany: The White Buffalo, Francois Botha, retained the WBF heavyweight title with a split decision over twelve messy, mauling and exciting rounds of boxing on this SES show at the Boerdeland Hall in Magdeburg, Germany. The judges scored the fight 117-110 and 114-113 for Botha and 114-113 for Hoffmann. After ten rounds Hoffmann was a champion on two cards but the so called German Oak fell in the eleventh and could well have been knocked out in the last round as he totally hung on to Botha and survived with a friendly referee in Dutchman Robert Verwijs giving him a lot of breaks. DAMN!!!! I wish Vitali didn`t fight Hoffman after he had lost to Byrd and had those operations... Otherwise he would have knocked this bum out also...

Hoffman,Byrd,& lewis were the only 3 boxers that went after vitali.I don't think hoffman a bum but I compare him to monte Barrett.Hoffman is a European gatekeeper.losing to Botha is not a bad thing.Botha may be 40 but he's an in your face, come after you boxer who only lost to Tyson, lewis, moorer, wladimir.Botha is not winning any titles but he's still a credible opponent.hoffman did exploit one of vitalis only weaknesses & that was vitali can't fight going backwards.the thing is no one is big enough in the division now to exploit this.Hoffman I think is a solid European gatekeeper with limited skill but I still think is a decent opponent.
