DeGale Looks Ferocious, Crushes Kubin in One

2008 middleweight Olympic gold medal winner, James DeGale (2-0, 1KOs), answered his critics by coming out with a fury and stopping previously undefeated Czech fighter Jindrich Kubin (5-1, 3KOs) in the first round at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland. [details]

I wouldn't say he "looked ferocious" he looked impressive but, he doesn't seem to have any real punching power, its gonna be a very hard and long career for Degale.

did any of you's watch the fights last night? just shows what a joke frank warren is he would of been better off putting his fighter in with statues as my poor arthritis ridden granny would of put up a better fight than the bums he put in against his fighters last nite and as for the refreeing it was shocking, felt sorry for rogan but then again he left it very late to av a real go at sexton.
does anybody else feel the undercards were setup's?
i was amazed at how bad they were and the commentators going as if they were incredible...lol

Guys were only in there 2nd fight so im not judging harshly, De Gale's oppenent was 5-0 and he came out aggressive after the **** he got last time out and he looked impressive - unlike his oppenents freakishly long neck Yukk!
The fans were harsh on him IMO.
Gavin was solid and clinical, Billy Joe looked the best again

Its only their second fight lol.
Should Warren put them in with top ten fighters ?
All boxers start their careers fighting sub par fighters.

                Good performance.

This is the kind of opponent that DeGale needs to be fighting. JDG is a natural counter-puncher with good skills but not much power. He should be matched against aggressive opponents who are coming to win.

If you put DeGale against a journeyman who is just looking to pick up a pay day, he won't do as well. It you try and play it safe and just jab against a guy like that, it tends to be a bit boring for the spectators. He needs to face guys who are going to go for the KO, so that he has openings to exploit and he gets to use his skills.

LOL at the people criticising. It's their second pro fight, Warren wants to build them a bit. He'll slowly test them out and then bring them up pretty fast I think. These guys seem tough, especially Gavin and Saunders so Frank Warren won't have to protect their chins so much like he had to do with Khan. Then made a disastrous error and put him in with Prescott lol.

For some reason Warren thinks these guys are good undercard fillers; I didn't even bother tuning in until the main event. Somebody let me know when they have a dozen fights on their record. Until then they are perfectly entitled to learn their trade, and are under no obligation to look good while doing it, just not to lose to the bums and journeymen. You don't go from good amateur to professional champ overnight, however promising you may be.
