IF Mayweather-Marquez does more than 400k will you accept that Mayweather is a bigger draw since Mayweather will have managed to do more numbers than Manny against the same people?
And in that case assuming you are a rational person we will also thereby conclude that Mayweather is the man and he deserves 60% of the share of revenue.
Floyd has a lot of fans and the truth is he's not that price elastic.Floyd could actually raise prices for his fights and take less PPV numbers but make more money than he is doing right now.Floyd appeals to people who are willing to pay extra to watch him fighting. The onces who are affected are those who have not taken time to build their brand like Mosley marketing game is dull.
I already acknowledged that Pac wasn't as popular back when Manny-Marquez 2 happened. It's a totally different scenario today because he's gained a foothold into the international mainstream consciousness almost overnight. That why I think bringing up his past PPV sales performance is kind of irrelevant when taken in context with the popularity he's enjoying right now and any speculation about PPV draw would have to take this into account, rather then relying on old figures (400k) when he wasn't as well known.
If Manny-Marquez 2 happened today instead of early 2008, I have no doubt in my mind it would've done a lot better sales because of Pac's popularity as a result of his domination of DLH and Hatton. ****e... I can just imagine how big Manny-Marquez 3 would be right now if Floyd didn't get in the way.
Floyd needs a NEW impressive win before he can act like a prima donna again.
