Jeff (New York): Dan, have you heard that Pacquiao has said he might very well retire after his October fight? Promotional ploy or is he 100% serious?!
SportsNation Dan Rafael: (12:16 PM ET ) I've heard some of that nonsense. NO CHANCE of that happening. NONE.
Good news. Rafael is generally right, and I hope he is in this case. Pacquiao is way too good at this point to retire.
Being president is not like playing a video game, boxing or going for a job.
It's a 24 hour job.
First question is; is he actually intelligent enough to do the job?
Can he speak well enough?
Can he debate well?
Is he persuasive enough?
Will be actually be able to EFFECTIVELY run the country's politics, economics, education system, health system, the military?
These are the neccesary things a Premier of a country is required to do.
It's all well and good being popular but can he actually do the job or will be just be a puppet president owned and controlled by banks and massive institutions?
He's planning to run for congress, I just can't see him winning really.
Yeah your right. Manny has laughed at the idea of being president. Even he knows that is a stretch for him. Most Philippine presidents in the past have either been dictators or corrupt. Manny is a good man, and not to many good people have been president before. Either he brings honesty to the table or corruption takes over his soul. Manny has said congress is as far as it goes for him though.
He has said for years that he wants out soon. 3 more fights TOPS and he is out. And why not? Why stick around until he slows and gets beat? Leave on top and follow the rest of his dream in life.
The thing is after a Mayweather and Marquez fight there is nothing left for him unless he wants to go mad and try for titles at 154 and beyond. I guess he could lose to Mayweather and then fight Marquez and then Mayweather gain in a rematch. Or he beats Mayweather and fights the winner of Cotto-Mosley

All valid questions, but I'd say that if Bush was able to get by for 8 yrs w/o those qualities, then maybe Pacquiao can too. Edit: Dammit, they beat me to it again.
