Froch Setting a Standard, Downplays Hopkins Bout

WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch wants to set a standard among fighters in the UK. He doesn't want to sit back and take minor fights on UK soil. Froch wants to take the best fights, regardless of location, and he isn't afraid to give up the homecourt advantage. He went over to America to make the first defense of title, stopping Jermain Taylor in the twelfth round. Now he wants to unify the division by facing IBF champin Lucian Bute in Montreal, Canada. Froch is begining to become big headed. he will be exposed badly soon, might as well get exposed by Hopkins.

Froch should be setting a standard for fighters everywhere, not just the UK. Nothing irritates me more than elite fighters taking on sub standard opponents for a quick buck.
      I would prefer a Froch/Bute fight than a Froch/Hopkins fight.

I don't think Froch is becoming big-headed, rather he subscribes to the admirable notion of the best fighting the best. I see nothing wrong with that. It's win/win for the fans.

Exactly. WHo cares if he is big-headed anyway? The bottom line is he is clearly prepared to go wherever it takes to face the best, and you have to respect that.

          Hahaha Danc,

I know we're both thinking of somebody who doesn't subscribe to that...

Froch may not be the most gifted or have the greatest technique, but you can't question the fact that he's willing to go anywhere to fight the best. It would be awesome if he unifies with Bute or Kessler. Nobody has even heard of Karoly Balzsay.

Bute ended the negotiations for a possible fight against Allen Green. He now wants to fight Carl Froch.

This is very true and I respect that more than anything. I do however see him being exposed VERY badly if he fights Hopkins.

He needs to be in the GYM everyday if not sleeping and waking up to start another day. He has a lot to work on. But I'm game for him to take on Bute, not Hopkins. After Bute he needs to fight Kessler's sorry ass. I liked him but the dudes best days was being beaten by Joey C.

Much respect to Hopkins though. He would school Froch. Easy......

I saw froch on bunceys yesterday, didn't seem big headed, far from it. Just a determined lad, who wants to fight the best. I'm glad he's dismissing the hopkins fight aswell, never gonna happen, not even hopkins deserves to take an 80-20 cut HAHA.

Super Greg is becoming more and more a Froch fan. He is willing to fly all the way over to America to fight anyone willing.
